Standardize Operational Procedures – SOPs
Is Everyone On The Same Page?
We assist you in developing your Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure everyone is on the same page.
Companies that take the time to develop and use SOPs will reduce uncertainty throughout every phase of a project and in daily operations. Well developed SOPs create consistency, improve efficiency, and reduce errors. Documented SOPs can be used to train new personnel, ensure regulatory compliance, and retain organizational knowledge. Formalizing your most important processes from start-to-finish using a SOP is essential in being able to accurately predict your business and operational outcomes. Conversely,
processes that are not documented and standardized can lead to rework, scheduling delays and financial losses.
Bottomline-Up-Front: SOPs provide essential roadmaps, so everyone knows what to do next.
We assist in the following:
- Identifying processes that require SOPs
- Development, Testing, and Validation of the SOPs
- Establish SOP Review and Update procedures
- Collaborating with employees who perform the tasks; ensuring the SOP is practical and reflects the actual task
- Train personnel to identify, develop, test, and validate new processes that require SOPs
- Train you in how to use SOPs to improve business, project management, quality controls, and operational practices
- Establish alerts, document control, and standards so the right personnel know when a critical SOP is not being followed
- Assist with digital transformation for better structured data
These are some of the areas we can assist you in creating SOPs to enhance your workflow and achieving your organizational goals.
Metrics - KPIs
Making the Data Make Sense
We can assist you with understanding, identifying and developing Metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to make your data, make sense.
Let us start by establishing that a KPI is a metric; but not all Metrics are KPIs.
Metrics and KPIs are quantitative factual data points you can use to monitor your organizations performance and progress. Using the right Metrics and KPIs can help you make the right decisions.
In-Short: Metrics provide the data, and KPIs are the data points that are used to drive strategic decisions and improve performance. However, the hardest part is deciding which Metric and KPIs you need.
Comparing a "Metric" and a "KPI":
- Metrics are typically collected on the Tactical and Operational level, then used to contribute toward producing a KPI.
- A Metric is a quantitative measurement of a process or business action.
- Individually a single metric is informative and may not indicate that a goal has been reached.
- Example of a Metric: Total Project Cost, Cost of Materials, Labor Costs, Safety related incidents
- A KPI provides a measurement used to analyze "Big Picture" performance, based on key business goals or objectives.
- KPIs are often used at a Strategic level to help you understand the whole picture, then used to make an informed decision.
- Example of KPIs: Cost Performance Index, Budget Variance, Total Reportable Safety Incident Rate.
